Service Assistant
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide a friendly and helpful tea-making and cleaning service to Pepkor, contributing to the company’s values and supporting the vision, mission, and strategy. This role ensures high standards of hospitality and hygiene for the Board of Directors, management, personnel, and visitors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Client Service: Serve tea, coffee, and water as required throughout the day. Assist with the preparation and delivery of service during meetings and functions.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain hygienic kitchens at all times. Perform thorough cleaning twice per month, including washing cupboards inside/out and cleaning urns, freezers, and fridges. Ensure washbasins and dishwashers are clean, and the eating area is regularly deep-cleaned.
- General Office & Bathroom Maintenance: Assist with the general neatness of the building, including passages, lifts, windows, walls, floors, and toilets. Ensure all areas receive a deep clean at least once a month.
- Provide related general assistance where needed.
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Previous experience as a General Assistant is advantageous.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately
- Good planning and organising skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well with people and maintain positive working relationships
- Ability to cope under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
- Customer service orientation
